An opportunity to work within the Global Enterprise Data Management Support team based in our Manchester Office

 

Department overview

 

The Enterprise Data Management (EDM) platform puts quality, audited data at the centre of customer’s organisations.  Its solutions build gold copy masters across all data types, delivering tangible data governance, risk management and compliance frameworks and rationalising legacy architectures. The EDM platform is the central core for all transactions, securities, prices, rates, counterparty and issuer data. EDM empowers those who understand the data to manage the data, no matter the complexity, volume or scope of the project. 

 

Position summary

 

The successful candidate will work as part of a Managed Services team.  The role is dynamic and provides a fantastic opportunity to build a solid career solving the data management issues of global top tier financial institutions.

 

Duties & accountabilities of the EDM Support team

  • Document functional and requirement specifications to define detail input and output,  file  content, systems functions, system controls and performance criteria
  • Configure Markit EDM application to meet the client specifications
  • Interacting with clients and colleagues to ensure accurate and timely information flows
  • Participate in the set up and management of client’s hosted EDM environment
  • Support, monitor and troubleshoot the client’s environment
  • Investigates and documents existing procedures and make recommendations for improvements.  Discusses proposed solutions for complex systems with customer

 

Business Competencies  

  • Education and experience -

Working towards a degree in computer science or equivalent

Appreciation of the Project Management and Project Lifecycle

Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008/2012/2014 experience   

Interest in Cloud operations  (AWS technologies such as EC2,  technologies)

  • Commercial awareness

An interest in the financial markets would be advantageous

The EDM managed services team is made up of many talented people based in offices throughout the world who all work closely together.  They are friendly, close-knit teams who share ideas and contribute to improving the support offering for our client base. 

 

Subject to suitable performance during the internship, a full-time position will be offered, after successful completion of your degree
