Cherwell Software developed a codeless platform called Cherwell Service Management (CSM). Using this software, it’s possible to automate business process with a combination of forms, actions, events, reports and everything else you would expect from a tool that can automate the processes of an SME.
We specialize in selling this platform to IT professionals and is generally configured to support workflows associated with the IT Service Desk out of the box. This content can then be refined to the specific needs of the company.
We are looking for a Software Developer- Intern to join our team in Dundee, Scottland.
We’re looking to cultivate the next generation of software developers in Scotland and are looking for candidates to take part in an internship at our Scottish R&D office in Dundee running from June to August.
Mentored by experienced software developers and embedded in an agile software development team you’ll be exposed to a series of development challenges that will expose you to industry best practices whilst also delivering value to your team.
You will start with an introduction to our technology stack and we’ll get you set up with your development environment in Visual Studio and running our software locally. From there we’ll identify enhancements for you to develop that will help your team and the wider department deliver software.
Depending on the length of time it takes to implement these solutions there may be time to introduce you to the application codebase and contribute to the product.
Whilst we don’t expect you to have commercial software development experience we won’t be teaching you how to write code, so you’ll need to have education or experience of developing software using an Object Orientated language and be familiar with OOP concepts. It will help if you have exposure to technologies across the stack, meaning you understand how to work with both browser side technologies and databases / repositories.
We’re looking for people who are methodical, intelligent and eager to learn. A natural problem solver you not only care about learning the way something works, but also why it works that way. It’s important that you are comfortable in a group environment and can explain what you have done and why you have done it that way.
