About This Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Director for Operations, the successful candidate , with support and guidance from the lead application developer, will be responsible for key feature developments and enhancements of InComm’s Business Information & operations application (c#.net, SQL,AJAX). Requiring liaison with the InComm team across UK, Europe and Russia and the U.S to gather user requirements, design and implement identified solutions. In addition to this primary responsibility the role will offer many opportunities to engage and develop software engineering skills within the business: 


  • Support API and data transfer integration projects with major 3rd party vendors and industry logistics partners
  • Define and develop some personal projects around our business data to support analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau & Azzure/Sharepoint services) and investigate/prototype machine learning opportunities
  • Learn and support our core transaction system services as a technical resource.
  • Assist in the development of a new IP for a hardware solution developing a software platform architecture for sensor inputs, database framework and User Interfaces


  • Majoring in Software Engineering working towards a business/commercial degree 
  • Experience with the Microsoft technology stack; Visual Studio, C#, MS SQL
  • Java, AJAX and web application development and frameworks 
  • Project management skills
  • Self-motivation and independent working
  • Documentation; Design, Change Control and Requirements Specifications
  • Data Mining and Analytics
  • API standards, SOAP/XML, REST 
  • Customer facing skills
  • High level of competency in MS Office products
  • The ability to work in a full-time capacity at our Whiteley office for the term of the placement
