Job Description

Role Summary:

Our product portfolio includes technology for open hole formation evaluation, well integrity, array production logging, tractor conveyance, ballistic perforating, and pipe recovery. Our world class software enables you to visualize well data, plan safe operations, and optimize efficiency. We are based in Farnborough UK where we operate as a Centre of Excellence for the design and manufacture of wireline logging tools.

Essential Responsibilities:

The role responsibilities will be defined based on business needs and your background and career aspirations. However, a large part of this role will involve developing data acquisition, interpretation and 2D/3D visualisation services for GE's Predix Cloud platform. As a result of this, you will get exposure to Industrial Internet micro-services and frameworks.


Essential skills: 

• Development experience in languages like C, C++, C#, Java

• Good mathematical knowledge Desired skills: 

• Windows desktop development and Linux skills

• Understanding of .NET application architectures

• Electronics, Raspberry Pi, Arduino 

•Potentially working with Microcontrollers

• Web front end development (HTML, JavaScript)

• Server side development (e.g. NodeJS, PHP)

• Familiarity with HTTP, REST, and JSON 

• Knowledge of microservice based development and Cloud computing (Cloud Foundry, AWS) 

• Experience with PostgreSQL Messaging queuing frameworks (RabbitMQ), Messaging Protocols (MQTT) Web security and authentication mechanisms (OAuth) 3D Graphics programming (OpenGL)

• Experience with networking concepts (AJAX, Websockets)

• Experience working with integrated development environments (Visual Studio, Eclipse) 

• Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies (Scrum, XP)
