Your opportunity We are looking for a number of recent IT graduates with excellent communication skills to join our award winning R&D team containing technology specialists and tax professionals. Your role Your role will be to use your IT/Scientific or Engineering training and experience to help a wide range of companies (from start-ups to multinationals) across the UK assess their development activities and obtain generous UK tax incentives.
The UK government provides a range of tax incentives to businesses performing R&D; Deloitte’s Innovation Tax services group is an acknowledged market leader in helping clients secure these incentives and is amongst the largest in the UK. Continued market success has created new opportunities within our growing group and we are seeking an IT/Engineering or Science graduate to join our project teams.
The Deloitte Innovation Tax services team is a unique multidisciplinary team comprising engineers, scientists, IT Specialists and tax/accounting professionals which helps UK companies claim government incentives (R&D tax relief) for their Research & Development projects.
We are part of a Global Investment, Innovation and Incentives (“Gi3”) practice, and opportunities to work on global projects will be available for successful candidates as experience is gained. As a result of continued growth, we are looking for new members to join the team This role will involve: Support reviews of technology projects with the technical specialists at the client companies. to obtain all the relevant technical details about the project.
You will be involved in briefing the client’s staff on technical eligibility criteria (BIS guidelines) and helping them to assess the eligibility of their projects against these criteria. Preparing technical documentation highlighting the key technical attributes of projects which justify their eligibility as R&D projects. Undertake project coordination and scheduling activities under guidance from Project Manager. Extensive on the job training will be provided as you commence in your new role.
An established career ladder exists, which will enable the job holder to progress through involvement in larger and more complex projects as experience is gained. Location: This role can be based in Leeds, Reading or London Your professional experience The key skills relevant for this role include: A strong science or engineering background, and an ability, interest and desire to apply this background to anticipate and understand the technical challenges presented by product and process development activities across a wide range of industries.
We are particularly interested to speak to individuals with a Physics background. An appreciation and awareness of the stages involved in bringing a new product to market, process improvement and product design techniques. Good interpersonal and communication skills with senior technical staff within client organisations. Strong planning and communication skills with the internal R&D team within Deloitte.
