Products include sensors for co-ordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and sensors for CNC machine tools including laser tool setters, contact tool setters, tool breakage detectors, touch probes and high accuracy inspection probes. For motion control, Renishaw supplies laser encoders, optical linear encoders, absolute encoders, incremental encoders, optical angle encoders, optical rotary encoders, magnetic rotary encoders, magnetic chip encoders and magnetic linear encoders. To analyse the static and dynamic performance of position-critical motion systems, use a Renishaw laser interferometer system.

Renishaw is also a world leader in additive manufacturing (3D printing) with machines that 'print'​ metal parts. For analytical applications Renishaw's Raman spectroscopy products identify and characterise the chemistry and structure of materials. In healthcare, Renishaw is a world leader in the manufacture of dental and medical structures, including 3D printed metal frameworks, abutments and medical implants for maxillofacial applications.

All graduate streams will open for applications on 3rd September 2018 until 9th November 2018.   Relevant disciplines: Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, and Software Engineering. Our Graduate Software Engineers work with a variety of software: application, embedded, macro, scripting. In the majority of our hardware products, in-house software is an essential component, including application software. Software engineers also help to develop test rigs for our manufacturing facilities and business applications for a variety of other departments. Software Engineers at Renishaw are likely to experience a variety of software development methodologies and approaches, including agile. Programming languages are generally C, C++, C#, VB and others depending upon the desired solution and platform that the software is to run on. Platforms range from Windows and Linux to Real-Time embedded operating systems for large and small scale microprocessor and microcontrollers. Various development processes and lifecycles are used depending on the nature of the problem being solved but mainly follow either a sequential (Waterfall, V-Model) or iterative (Agile, Unified Process) style. Promotion in this stream is likely to take you down either a technical route to Senior then Principal Software Engineer, or to a managerial position such as Technical Manager or Department Manager.
