Description of the job Start date: 1st July 2019 Duration: 12 Months The internship will take place within the Data Science team. We are looking for an intern for a 12 month internship. In order to meet the extraordinary challenges of future intelligent air transportation, our group is in charge of bridging our aeronautics systems with the world of Artificial Intelligence. The team's goal is to develop innovative products and methods to optimize the performance of Airbus divisions. Tasks & accountabilities Your main tasks will include: Grasp the business requirements of the application Virtual Assistance in flight and / or ground Decision making for improved operations Selecting the most appropriate AI/ML algorithms Defining the complete process and developing the machine learning/artificial intelligence modules Due to the high data volume and fast computation request, it may be necessary to develop new data processing algorithms before using machine learning approach. You will work in a team with the industrial software developers and R&D engineers. You may also work in close cooperation with another trainee dealing with a connected topic. This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth. Required skills You must be an undergraduate for the full duration of the placement, studying towards a degree in one of the following; mathematics and modeling, statistics, probability and programming. You ideally have initial experience in this field and you have knowledge of Mathematics, Machine Learning including Deep Learning, Statistics, Image and Data Processing, Programming (Python). You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills. You are recognized for your curiosity, creativity and ability to learn quickly and to suggest potential solutions. English: negotiation level. French, German or Spanish would be a plus.
